"I’m lost!" azure said with a small hint of fear in her voice.
"no where not I know this place!" replied Jamie, only just hiding the fact that he was completely lost.
they had been on a simple nature walk when they stopped to have a rest....by the time they realized all the others had gone it was too late.... "threes only one path here they couldn’t be that far" muttered Jamie. being in his 5th year hiking class he did know a lot of these roads but this one was new.
there teacher had stumbled across it a year ago and was taking them on a mapping walk to see why it had not been mapped before.
azure didn’t want to be here she hated the outdoors no computer no phone...it was hell!!
but she met Jamie here a week ago and they have been close ever since! he was nice and sweet, laughed at all her strange jokes and even stuck-up for her when the other guy's hassled her for dressing like a Goth girl...
secretly that was why he had fallen for her. he liked that she didn’t care what people thought of her.
she was nice and kind; she hid this from everyone but him! and he loved it.
"I know! let’s just go back to camp and wait?" azure burst out.... Jamie jumped.
she laugh's... Jamie smile's he loves her laugh, "if we keep walking this path we should meet up with the rest of the group soon" Jamie tells her smiling.
"I hope so" azure reply's a little shakily....
Jamie reaches out and grabs her hand tightly..... they walk in silence just enjoying their warmth, and closeness. she had never been this close to someone before......
they must have walked for what seemed hours but they were just enjoying their closeness...... there heard voices...... "do you hear that?" Jamie asked.
"yes I think we found them!" azure answered quietly.
Jamie stepped forward and then........silence....... there was no one there! not a soul! where were the people! they both couldn’t have been hearing things could they?
"what’s going on? asked Jamie....."Jamie I’m scared... please can we just go back to the camp?" azure asked getting increasingly agitated...
"no azure. look threes a clearing up ahead!" Jamie knew he should just take her back but he needed to know what was going on! maybe this was just some kind of sick joke by the others!
"let's just go over and have a look ok sweetie?" Jamie asks in the bravest voice he could muster...
"ok, if you think we should but I’m soo scared Jamie!" azure was almost ripping his arm off clinging so tightly.... "ok azure we will just look and if no one’s there we'll go back." Jamie replies.
they walk forward... and as they enter the clearing.......nothing! not a single piece of camping gear or cooking gear.... "ok now we looked can we please go back?" azure was getting more and more agitated! "yes...yes we'll go back now!" Jamie reply’s and putting his hand around her to steady her they start to walk back.
it takes a little over an hour to retrace their steps. and still not a sound or a soul... not even the birds where singing anymore it was as if the world had suddenly went on mute.
Jamie never took his arm from her! she was glad he was here... she stop's and turns to him... look's deep into his eyes.. "I love you Jamie!" Jamie is stunned......he stars at her.....he starts to smile and he grad's her hands in his.....looking back into her eyes he says the word's she has been hoping for "I love you azure!" and he kisses her deeply...... this is the happiest moment in her life! azure feels as though all the shadows that clouded her mind had been blown away.......
then the world came crashing down upon them!
"AZURE, JAMIE!!!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?"
they both jumped! it was there teacher mrs.brinstean....
Jamie went to tell her what happened but it was no good! she was furious... you see azure was mrs.brinstean's daughter..... she was bright red..... her mum grabbed her and dragged her back to camp....yelling that she should always stay with the group.....everyone was staring and laughing at her.... she felt all the goodness disappear again as she lost sight of Jamie.
her mum yelled at her for what seemed hours asking what they were doing alone and if he touched her? "no mum he didn’t he's nice he would never do that to me!" azure say's while crying... "you don’t know that azure! you don’t know what these boy's are like!" Emma (mrs.brinstean) say's
"but he is nice to me when the other's just teas me mum!" azure is getting frantic now!
"who has been teasing you azure I haven’t seen anyone teasing you??" at this point azure didn’t care anymore! she yell's "THATS BECOUASE YOUR SO PREOCUPIDE BY THIS CAMPING SHIT YOU DONT SEE WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND YOU! IM TEASED AND PICKED ON BY EVERYONE BUT HIM!!! HE CARES ABOUT ME! WHEN EVERYONE IS LAUGHING AT ME HE'S STANDING BY ME SAYING "IT WILL BE OK... THEY JUST DONT KNOW YOU" AND HE SAID HE LOVED ME!" azure collapses on the floor crying...... her mum just stand's there and stares at her.......
"you really like this boy that much azure? you have never yelled at me before! I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you... but don’t you think your going a bit fast with this boy?"
"Jamie......his name is Jamie" azure say's with a horse voice...... wiping her eyes she gets up shakily.... "and yes I do like him that much..... I love him!" azure is so tired of arguing....
her mum looks at her and say's "ok then azure! you can see him.... but I will be watching you now! no one will tease you or pick on you anymore!"
"oh thank you mum, thank you......" azure is happy again and crying once more.....
"it is late now you can see him in the morning ok! you go to bed and rest!" her mum say's kindly.
"ok mum, and thank you......" azure stumbles off to bed and is asleep before she even hit's the bed!
next morning she wake's to the sound of every one yelling and having fun... it is the last day of camp and now the bus's will be coming soon.... she gets dressed and heads down stairs.... to find Jamie standing there waiting for her.. she runs over and hug's him... he say's "I love you azure and I will never leave you!" she is shocked to hear that! she steps back....looks at him.....and asks "you really will never leave me?" Jamie step's closer...."no! I will never leave you!" Jamie hug's her tightly... she returns the hug....."I love you Jamie!" she is happy.... but she doesn’t know that as it turns out Jamie lives just down the road From her house....he has seen her in school all the time and at the shop's.... he had a crush on her for years but never had the nerve to come forwards.... now he is glad he did.....
they ride in the same bus... and not one person tease’s or pick's on her the whole way... 3 hoarse later and there home. she gets off the bus with Jamie and he walks her to her front door... her mum wont be home until late tonight... she thinks of asking him to stay a little but before she can he kiss's her deeply and say's "I love you azure, and I’ll come over tomorrow? but here’s my I’m address!" he hands her his addy..... she smiles and say's "I love you too Jamie! I’ll talk to you tonight. and yes please come over tomorrow!" he says good bye and wait's for her to go inside and close the door before heading off.... she walk's upstairs and sits on her bed, her hands are shaking as she looks at the addy he gave her.....
over the next few years they became closer and closer Jamie took her to her formal... and on graduation they both went to the camp they first met at for there vacation...
years have passed and they are still strong azure is an accountant with a law firm. Jamie is a manager at the local sports store.... one night at her favorite restaurant Jamie comes in for their nightly dinner and he walks up to her and kisses her... he looks nervous..... he gets onto one knee...
looks up at her and pulls a ring out of his pocket.... "azure my love will you marry me?"
she is shocked she didn’t think this would ever happen not to her! she fall onto her seat.....looks at the ring....trying’s to speak......finally she takes a deep breath....."yes......yes.... I will marry you Jamie"
Jamie jumps up and hugs her! he is so happy so is she....... they get married to months later on the most beautiful day you could wish for..... and up to this day they have been happy in their life together! and I see many happy days to come for them.....I should know I was the one that told them to go down the wrong path when they finally wanted to catch up that day at the camp...... shame they will never know.... but I’m always doing that...... you never know I may meet you one day and show you the wrong path....but remember the wrong path in life is not always wrong....just a little detour....
